Advantages for the rental companies

The main advantage with the A3 is the creation of virtual presence. Once installed, you can survey your equipment 24 hours a day. This means that you can access information on the exact usage time for each hoist (to the minute), as well as if and when the hoist has been overloaded. This also means that you can offer your client more accurate and flexible rental contracts (e g modified for usage instead of number of hoists available).

With the A3, you'll also receive continuous feedback on alarms, stand-stills and other deviations and will be able to respond swiftly and accurately, often without having to be onsite. Through extensive, real-world field tests we know that every second alarm can be solved on-line or with an ordinary phone call. We also know, through first hand experience, that the monitoring of usage results in substantial additional rental revenues.

Advantages for the contractors

Since this system is constantly connected, you have immediate and continuous access to the best service available, no matter where in the world the hoist is located. Many problems can, thus, be solved even before you notice them, minimizing downtime and giving you access to continuous, proactive support. Of course, there will still be times when a service technician needs to be onsite - but then with a clear picture of what needs to be done, and what parts to bring to the site (programmed for your specific hoist and ready for instant use). With the A3, vertical transportation on your building projects will be more up and less down.

Advantages for existing Alimak Scando owners

The A3 is also good news for all the existing Alimak Scando customers. Through a stand-alone solution - dubbed "Orange Box" - you can add A3 functionality to your existing Scando hoist. Since the A3-system is built on open standards and track-record proven technology, this opens up a lot of additional possibilities, such as facilitating the connection to our other hoists and platforms, that initially were not built for online access.

In short, the A3 makes your hoist come alive. The system sends out signals, heart beats, describing the situation. ((What)). ((When)). ((Where)). ((Why)). If a problem occurs, the A3 immediately sends out an alarm, along with a short description of the situation and, as with good friends, it even calls from time to time, just to tell you all is well.

Web-based user interface

Since the A3 system is connected via the Internet, a total overview of all the connected hoists and all the generated data is just a browserwindow away. You can log on to the administrative tool and see an event history and current status of all the machines. If you want more information on a specific hoist, just click on the machine in question and the system will give you a more detailed presentation. Of course, you can also contact the hoist if you want to double-check the status or an urgent alarm.

Optional GPS positioning function

The system's optional GPS function provides an easy way to track and identify the different hoists in the system. You can acquire the current positioning of the hoists on an ordinary, easy to read map. Of course, it is also possible to name the hoists according to your choice (with a new name for each building project if needed).

With the same tool, you can store user information, log notes and other information that can be of use in a service or evaluation situation. All the data can be imported into Excel, and then transferred to your business system or similar programmes for post processing and presentation.

Quick field installation

The Orange Box, that brings A3 functionality to hoists and platforms, is prepared for installation in the field, making it possible to connect new hoists with existing equipment in just hours (or actually minutes, but that sounds almost too good to be true!).
