Alimak Hek at Cement Plants

The environment at a cement plant puts enormous strain on all equipment at the site. A lift needs to withstand the influence of dust, humidity and heat.
This reality creates a problem for conventional wire rope lifts, which rely on shaft enclosures to operate. At cement plants, the risk of dust concentration becomes especially great inside a lift shaft, where it clings to the lift wire and finally to the winch, thereby creating operating problems.
The Alimak Hek rack & pinion drive on the other hand, does not experience these problems, as it requires neither a lift shaft or wire, and therefore can be installed outside.
